Live in production

Four letters is the whole setup.

Two people, anywhere on earth, on wifi or cell data. No account to make, no address to share, no router to configure. Say four letters out loud and duel.

  1. 1

Both of you install the game

Same version on both devices. Android or PC, and they can be different — a phone can duel a desktop.

  2. 2

One of you opens the satchel and picks Host

The game gives you four letters. That is your room. Nothing else is created, registered or stored.

  3. 3

Read the four letters out loud

Down the phone, over text, across the sofa. They are letters, not an address — there is nothing sensitive to leak.

  4. 4

The other picks Join and types them in

You meet in the room and the duel starts. Full team battle: swap elementals as they fall.

Why a room code and not an address

On mobile data your phone sits behind the carrier's network and cannot accept an incoming connection — so neither player can host the other, no matter how willing. Both devices instead dial out to a shared meeting point, find each other by room code, and it passes packets between them without ever reading what's inside.

The practical upshot is the part that matters: you never learn your opponent's address and they never learn yours. The only thing that changes hands is four letters.

What to expect right now

This shipped recently and it's honest to say what it is and isn't.

Working

  • Real-time duels between any two players, any distance
  • Full team battles with mid-duel swaps
  • Mobile data and wifi, phone-to-phone or phone-to-PC
  • A friendly defeat costs you nothing — your team is healed

Not there yet

  • No matchmaking — you duel people you know, by room code
  • No ranking, no accounts, no friends list
  • One server region, so very long distances add delay
  • Built for duelling friends, not strangers

Duels need someone to duel. The beta list is how you'll hear when there's a build to install and other people to play it with.
